Preparing for Your Visit

The best way to experience FSU is to get out and explore. Regardless of the weather, your visit will include a substantial amount of walking. Encourage your group members to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Please make sure your group arrives on time, we cannot guarantee a guided tour for groups arriving outside their schedule tour time. If you are running late, please contact the Visitor Center at 850.644.3247 on the day of your visit.

Please take some time to review or print out our welcome packet. Our staff has put together some helpful resources for you and your students during your visit to campus. The packet includes a QR code students can scan to check-in for the group tour. To save time when you arrive, we encourage you to have students complete the check-in form on your way to campus. Additional information about restroom locations, admissions publications, virtual admissions presentations, and parking information are also provided in this packet.

*A welcome packet will also be available upon arrival for your visit.

On-Campus Conduct

While visiting, please respect our students, faculty, staff, and grounds. Any issues may result in a review of future visit requests from your group.

  • Chaperones must accompany the group throughout your visit. Please provide adequate adult supervision for monitoring the group and ensuring appropriate behavior. Our student Ambassadors are not responsible for maintaining order.
  • Please discuss with your group ways to be respectful during the tour. The Ambassadors working with your group are giving their time, energy, and expertise. Encourage your students to engage with guides and refrain from using headphones or distracting electronics while on tour.
  • Classes and meetings are being held during your tour, please remind your group to be quiet when inside buildings.
  • Please help keep our campus clean, remind your group to dispose of trash responsibly, especially during meals on campus.

Group Tour Parking

For detailed information regarding bus parking on campus, please visit our Group Visit Parking Information page.

Buses are welcome on campus however roads are narrow and access to the center of campus will not be possible by bus. The best place for unloading, loading, and parking a bus on campus is the University Center surrounding Doak Campbell Stadium. From here, groups can walk to their destination on campus. FSU is very pedestrian friendly allowing groups to access most areas of campus on foot within a 15 to 25-minute walk.

No changes will be made to your schedule on the day of your group visit. If there are timing issues it will be up to the discretion of our Group Tour coordinator to adjust or cancel parts of the tour.
